Dr. Bartlett

This project will bring together the existing information regarding the leafhoppers, planthoppers, treehoppers, spittlebugs, and cicadas (i.e., the Auchenorrhyncha) of the GSMNP, and update the ATBI database and DLIA website to reflect the full known diversity of these insects. To do this, I will process backlogged specimen samples for target groups, identify them; add this data to the ATBI database. From the ATBI database, published and unpublished data, I will develop a comprehensive species list for our target groups and develop web-based resources on the diversity of Auchenorrhyncha of the Park. This information will then be used to define data gaps for further future exploration and identify key taxa and habitats for the Park.
